This site provides a forum for my musing about technology and various policy issues.

The Internet has drastically changed the way people communicate among themselves and with business partners. It is based on an end-to-end communication model allowing entrepreneurs to develop new business models without the knowledge or permission of the network itself.

The Internet is general purpose, designed to carry digital bits from one location to another as fast as possible. Prior to the Internet each information container: newspaper, magazine, telegraph, telephone, radio and TV required a purpose built network. The Internet has turned that on its head by creating a transparent network capable of transporting anything that can be digitized.

The rules have changed. We are still at the early stage of this exciting transition.
